Day 7 - Barcelona - La Rambla

We arrived in Barcelona to slightly warmer temperatures and a much more laid back attitude. The main tourist street in Barcelona is called La Rambla. There are some odd things on this street... Think Venice Beach street performers!

Barcelona was founded as a Roman city and there are still traces of that city that still exist.  These tombs were unearthed and date back to the first century.

And some of the Roman walls also still exist around the oldest parts of the city.

On each side of La Rambla are streets that lead to small beautiful plazas, many with fountains.

At the end of La Rambla before you get to the harbor is a statue a Columbus the love of their city.

A relaxing start to what ended up being Darren's favorite city we visited on our trip!
