Christmas in Kentucky

On Christmas Eve, with Darren in the midst of the stomach flu, we drove to Hopkinsville.  So gald to be with my family.

The whole family picture and not a single one of us was missing.  Who knows if that will ever happen again.  And we even got Taylor to look at the camera!

Mom found a surprise in her package from Frank, the ugly ornament from the ugly ornament contest he couldn't find.  We all thought it was pretty cute.

Taylor's favorite thing to do was climb on the gifts.  Pictures don't do her adorableness justice!

And I had an awesome Christmas and birthday.  My newest toy.  Can't wait to spend some time learning to take great pictures with it!

Christmas in Chicago

The weekend before Christmas we headed up to Darren's mom's house to celebrate Christmas with his family.  It was a great visit until I caught the stomach bug and gave it to everyone else!

Christmas in Indianapolis

Before Christmas a couple of our Indian friends convinced us to go out for a night of Bhangra dancing.  It ending up being a mix of pop and Indiana pop and we had a lot of fun!

Ashish & Elite's Wedding Reception

I didn't the reception could be decorated more beautifully than the weddings but I was blown away.  This room was not built for a wedding but I cannot think of anything more perfect to occur in the space.

The flowers were unreal.

The cake was decorated by hand to look like mendi. 

But what really blew us away was the dessert table. Not that I could fit much after dinner and wedding cake but it couldn't have been more beautiful.

Ashish & Elite's Wedding

A couple weeks after we got back from our own wedding we had another wedding to go to.  This time for Ashish and Elite, friends of Darren's from residency. They got married outside of Detroit so a quick trip up the road. 

Their Sangeet, similar to a rehersal dinner was in the center of the Henry Ford museum.  Notice the airplane over their heads, it is huge.  A very neat place for a party!

After the Sangeet we met back up at the hotel.  Their special was apple cidar martini's.  They were incredibly tasty!

Ashish is Indian and Elite is Jewish so they had two weddings and one reception on the Saturday.  The morning started early with the Baraat.  Ashish made his grand entrance on a white horse with all his family and friends were dancing in his honor. 

The ceremony was beautifully decorated.
