Christmas in Kentucky

On Christmas Eve, with Darren in the midst of the stomach flu, we drove to Hopkinsville.  So gald to be with my family.

The whole family picture and not a single one of us was missing.  Who knows if that will ever happen again.  And we even got Taylor to look at the camera!

Mom found a surprise in her package from Frank, the ugly ornament from the ugly ornament contest he couldn't find.  We all thought it was pretty cute.

Taylor's favorite thing to do was climb on the gifts.  Pictures don't do her adorableness justice!

And I had an awesome Christmas and birthday.  My newest toy.  Can't wait to spend some time learning to take great pictures with it!

Christmas 2010

One of my inspired pages in awhile.  I found a cut out of similar shape and decided to make it my own and fit it to my pictures.  I really love the way it turned out and this might be my most favorite chipboard ever!

 

Christmas

Yes I'm still insanely behind but catching up pretty quickly!  This year Christmas was a bit different than we were all used to.  It was Heather and Marc's first married Christmas.

Emily and Jacob were MIA because this little one was on the way.

And it was my first Christmas with Darren too.

But somethings don't change.  There was tons of food as usual. Which led to a lot of family time in the kitcken.

 

And we had some welcome, yet uninvited guests.

And there were emotion inducing presents.  This is the flag that was over Papa's casket when he was buried.

And grin inducing presents. Bears beer steins and a UK jersey.

 

But one thing doesn't change.  The annual family picture!

We  also celebrated Christmas on New Year's Day with Darren's family.  I'm a bad blogger and only took one picture.  This one of Darren's sister Michelle and brother-in-law Jason.

Heather & Marc's Wedding

I know I still owe some pictures on Heather's shower I threw for her but I haven't received them yet so I'll have to come back on that one later. But October 1st was Heather and Marc's wedding! I was honored to be one of the bridesmaids.

The cakes were adorable.  If you look at the grooms cake closely you'll see goldfish in the pond!

See Rock City!

About 20 miles from my parents house is a historic "See Rock City" barn.  Rock City has been around for 75 years and their primary advertisement method was to paint barns on the sides of the state highways.  In their prime, there were over 900 Rock City barns.  Rock City would paint a farmer's barn for the right to advertise on their barn.

Party Throwers

My family will find ANY excuse to throw a party.  This weekend's excuse was the retirement of the principal at my aunt Kathy's school.  She was planning on having 80 people for dinner but only about 60 or so showed up.  Fortunately we didn't have to cook, just set up, decorate tables and such.  It was our first successful (read: no rain out) outside party! I snapped a few pictures before everyone got there and before it got too dark.
