Jay & Lisa

2011 was the year of the wedding for Darren and I.  The last wedding we attended before moving to Indianapolis was Jay & Lisa's Wedding.  They had a Sangeet the night before and then a beautiful ceremony and reception the following day.

Warner Brothers - Harry Potter!

While in LA we did a studio tour of Warner Brothers.  Even though Harry Potter was not filmed in the US there was a lot of memorabilia  on site from the movies include props and original costumes.  Below the first article indicating Voldermort has returned!

Below are original professor costumes.  The one of the left is the evil Professor Umbridge and the one on the right is Quirrel's robes and headpiece which Voldermort hid when he was part of the back of his head.

Harry's Firebolt.

The red shirt was an outfit worn by Ron, The robes with the scarf were Hermione's and the far right were Harry's robes.

A number of different spell books from the movie.

Baseball

Midweek after being in Vegas we drove to LA and specifically directly to the Angels Stadium. The game was against the Texas Rangers.  It was not a good night for the Angels but a beautiful night for baseball!

I had been to the stadium back in about 2004 with my friend Chad but Darren had never been.

While in LA we also got to go to Dodger Stadium and see the Dodgers play Tampa Bay.  David Price (from Vanderbilt) was pitching but unfortunately Tampa Ended up blowing it and letting the Dodgers win.  Also going from Angels Stadium to Dodgers Stadium is a little like going from the penthouse tot he outhouse.  Angels Stadium is new feeling and very nice.  Dodgers stadium is old and run down feeling.  A classic I guess!

Neither Darren nor I thought to bring a sweatshirt or anything to LA thinking it wouldn't be "cold" in LA during the summer.  Boy were we wrong. It was getting into the low 60's at night and sitting outside after dark was chilly.  We were not able to stick out the game to the end but it was a nice time.

Surprise!

Now that the Asia scrapbook is finally done, I can move back into my normal scrapbooking which I'm now 27 months behind on! The first thing after a trip to Asia was to surprise Elizabeth for her 30th birthday!

Las Vegas

Last month we were able to finally take a vacation with Michelle and Jason.  We had been trying for a number of years but couldn't get the schedules to work out.  They were going to Vegas for a long weekend and we were able to get vacation that week and meet them.

We stayed at the Mirage which had a very beautiful pool.  Too bad at 105+ it was too hot to stay there for longer than a couple hours!

We visited one hotel none of us had ever been to the Rio!

This is the view from the Rio's parking garage.  Amazing view of the back side of the strip!

Darren really liked gambling at the Luxor since they had $5 table games all day! :) I liked it because when he lost, he lost less at a time!

We also spent some time at New York New York.

A few other pictures from the trip.

Best Bathroom

I don't normally go around snapping pictures of public restrooms I encounter but these restrooms at Public House in Vegas had me laughing so hard I couldn't resist.

First when you walk towards the bathroom you have this sign.

Then the entrances to the men's and women's rooms.

And lastly, this was over my toilet.  Yes they really went there!

Inter Milan vs Chelsea

Before we went on vacation Inter Milan played Chelsea at Lucas Oil.  They was some sort of Champion's Cup and one of the games was slated for Indianapolis.  It was neat being able to see such great soccer teams play each other.  The two teams walking out.  Each player had a kid with them. Such a neat experience for them.

Penalty kick. One of the two goals Chelsea scored.  They won 2-0.

Neha was nice enough to invite me to go with her when her brother cancelled on her.

Lucas Oil at night waiting for Darren and the guys to walk home.

TINA

A friend of mine came over one day to scrapbook.  She made these adorable letters to put in her 3-year old daughter's room.  I just wanted to share.

Monument Circle

My parents visited in late July.  We noticed that Monument Circle had be reopened.  Since we ate dinner down there my dad and I decided to go up in it.  The views from the top of the city were really nice.

The courthouse.

Lucas Oil Staduim

Banker's Life Field house.

Totally worth the $1 per person to ride the elevator instead of the 350 stairs.

View from the bottom.
