Biltmore Gardens

After we toured the Biltmore Estate we took a tour of the gardens.  It was at the tail end of the spring flower festival so the flowers were still beautiful but not as pretty as I'm sure they would have been a couple weeks before.

This is the view of the side terrace out to the side garden.

This is the side lawn near the front of the house.  It is just the house's right below the front walls.

View from the gardens to the side of the house.

Beautifully manicured gardens.

Finally got to test my new camera with some detail shots!  They turned out incredible!

Still Alive?!?

Darren sent me flowers way back on May 7th.  That was 1 month ago yesterday.  The filler has since died but the roses are still very much alive!  I'm incredibly impressed.  I've tried to keep them in the refrideragtor each day when I'm gone and during the nights.  They aren't looking fantastic anymore, but they are still alive and still smell rosey!

Pretty Flowers

A week ago Friday, I got home from work with a surprise on my doorstep, beautiful flowers from Darren!  He was a little disappointed because that was the day I was told I'd have to go to Tucson for work so I wouldn't get to enjoy them much.

However, I put them in the refridgerator every night and the entire time I was gone and they still look beautiful and really almost as beautiful as when I got them.  Thanks, D!

My Iris

Mom cut me an Iris before I left Hopkinsville on Saturday.  This was just not just any Iris but the first blooming Iris of the season.  I won't be back until most of them had died in mid-May so it was super sweet of her to give me the first one and it is turning out to be beautiful!

Unfortunately, the flower had a bit of an accident and the top bud popped off and is now living in a shot glass! :)

And now in full bloom.  Beautiful.
