Day 6 - Fengdu

We arrived in Fengdu early in the morning so before our actual excursion, decided to walk around town with some people in our group.  Fengdu is not a huge port type city and apparently doesn't see many white girls or guys as tall as Darren.  We got quite a few stares!

After lunch we took a tour of the Snowy Jade Cave.  It was amazingly well developed for having only been discovered 15 years before.  It is a huge cave at over 1000 miles long!

Apparently the stalactites in this cave grow super fast for cave growing standards at about 33 millimeters per 100 years compared to a normal cave where they grow at 1 millimeter per 100 years.

The name of this one is the musician's hands.

The formations were huge and beautiful.

On the way back to the ship, we stopped at an elementary school.  At first the kids were shy but after giving them some candy, they warmed right up to us and were shouting and waving goodbye.
