So I've not blogged in forever and I haven't blogged about scrapbooking in way longer. Yes these pictures are from October 2010 and were scrapbooked in January and now being blogged about in June. :)

A German Halloween
For Halloween this year, Darren and I decided to go as a German Beer Garden Girl and her German Man. Poor Darren, the first people we see as we are getting to the bar are a couple actual Germans who made fun of him...
But we had a good time with his residency friends.

Baton Twirlers
The Iowa game was Michigan's homecoming game. Like most school, Michigan has their alumni come back and play in the band or in this case twirl batons. I come from the land of Vanderbilt where they baton twirlers are not very good. These two impressed me and what even shocked me even more is that they were men and one was of the grandfatherly age! The younger one even did the splits!

Don't Call it a Comeback
Because it wasn't. Darren wanted to go to one more Michigan football game before he left Ann Arbor next spring. The only game we were in town for was the Iowa game. We've been really fortunate and got another good set of tickets.
A few minutes into the 4th quarter, Iowa scored again, making Michigan down by 21. We were about ready to leave if Michigan didn't score on their next drive. They did, in just over a minute on the clock. They went on to score one more touchdown before their rally ended. A valiant failed attempt.
I tried out the panorama feature on my camera. I'm pleased with it.
I took at least a half dozen pictures of us and this was the best one... sad, but true...

Prom Season
Friday night was Darren's end of the year party for the Internal Medicine Department, affectionately dubbed as their "Prom." I was able to fly up on Thursday to be there with him Friday. It was a fun night celebrating Darren and his friends almost being done with their residencies! I'm so proud of him and can't believe he'll be, what I refer to as, a "real doctor" in just 3 short weeks! Congrats, Darren!

The Preppy Party!
In Ann Arbor on Saturday, Darren and I got invited to a preppy birthday party. There were polo shirts in a rainbow of colors! Late in the evening, we ran out of ice and the liquor was not cool. I raided the freezer and came out with icey pops. Cheers to colorful drinks and preppy clothes!
And while the topic is fun colors, a view of the tunnel between concourses at the Detroit airport.

A Lookback at Fall
I'm really loving spring time finally getting here but this layout celebrates what fall is like in my mind. My parents and brother came in and we all went to LP Field for a Titans game. Earlier and that month, Darren took me to witness the crazy rivalry of Michigan and Ohio State up in the Big House. What an awesome experience. So much difference from your typical Vandy game! :)
Halloween '09
Halloween 2009 was celebrated up in Ann Arbor. Darren and I both decided to be pirates. I'm really diggin' the black/orange/purple Halloween theme. :) Arghh Matey!

Michigan Football
Remember in September I got my first real tailgating experience along with my first trip to The Big House? I got experience both a "Maize Out" and a Michigan Victory!

A Tradition Unlike Any Other...
Ok so maybe it wasn't the Masters but the the annual Michigan/Ohio State game in a sense IS a Tradition Unlike Any Other. These seats were not as "good" as our previous game seats being on row 81 as opposed to the mid-twenties but I'm now a believer about there not being a bad seat in the house. Michigan did not end the day as Victors or Conquering Heroes but it was a better game than most predicted.

Michigan Beer Festival
In July Darren, Alex, Anna and I went to the Michigan Beer Festival in Ypsilanti, MI. I would never have been able to imagine the beer concoctions that they came up with. I would never have thought of a blueberry pancake beer slushy, beer flavored with chipotle or beer that tasted like liquid creme brulee. It was such a fun day... We might have to make a trip to the winter beer festival in February!

Aarggh Matey
I spent Halloween in Ann Arbor with Darren. I had previously been a pirate so Darren decided to get a costume that would compliment mine. We ended up at a pre-party at Alicia's house and then out at Connor O'Neills. A good time was had by all.
Here is some of the rest of the crew: Pete (from the Big Lewbowski), Laura (Heidi Montag), Kevin (Inmate), Alicia (Goddess), Mitul (Ninja/Pilgrim), and Darren.

Maize Out
Darren bought us (matching) shirts so we could participate in the Maize Out too with our 110,276 closest friends. Some Notre Dame fan thought we were under dressed and provided us with matching blue beads too. :)
